6 bogies of Teesta-Torsa Exp derail

<div class="section1"><div class="Normal">KOLKATA: Railway safety suffered yet another setback when the 3141 Dn Teesta-Torsa Express from New Jalpaiguri to Sealdah derailed around 11.45 on Thursday night near the Mahipal Road station in the Jangipur subdivision of Murshidabad district of north Bengal.<br />The train was scheduled to arrive in Kolkata at 6:35 am.Initial reports said six bogies had derailed – three sleepers, one AC and two general. <br />Railway officials in Malda said the mishap occurred when the Teesta-Torsa Express, coming from New Jalpaiguri, was crossing the tracks on a loop line at the Azimganj section, where the Kamrup Express was waiting for it to pass.<br />They said the train was moving at a low speed when the coaches derailed and added that no passenger was injured in the accident. <br />An accident-relief train and a special train carrying a 50-member medical team, including eight doctors immediately rushed to the accident site from Malda. <br />Jangipur police suspected explosives were being carried on the train. <br /><span style="" font-weight:="" bold="">Related links:</span> <br /><img src="/images/redbull.gif"> <span style="" font-family:="" times="" new="" roman="" color:="" class="news">Enquiry numbers </span><span style="" font-family:="" times="" new="" roman="" font-weight:="" bold="" class="news">Malda: 03512-66000| Sealdah: 033-3503536/6825/8828/8836/8876/9736| Howrah: 033-6602217</span><br /><img src="/images/ticker.gif"> <a href="/articleshow.cms?art_id=22710384">Missing fish plates: Accident averted near Dhanbad</a> </img></img></div> </div>
