HOWRAH: Three persons were killed and four injured, one critically, when a truck knocked them down in Bagnan area of West Bengal's Howrah district on Wednesday.The incident occurred when the conductor and two helpers of a private bus were replacing a deflated tyre on Bagnan's Mahisrekha Bridge, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Uluberia, Pranab Das said.A sand-laden truck veered from the left side of the stranded vehicle killing two on the spot, Das said.Another helper succumbed to his injuries at Bagnan Hospital.The condition of one of the injured passengers, who had got down from the bus, was critical, and he was being treated at Uluberia Hospital, he said adding, others were admitted to Bagnan Hospital.
The truck-driver managed to escape.
