and a third where a pedestrian was hit — left six persons injured.

According to cops, the first accident was reported near the National Library. “Around 8.45am on Monday, a private bus on route 230 hit an ambulance that was carrying a patient and his two relatives to Chittaranjan National Medical College. The crash led to the ambulance keeling over and all the passengers were injured. The driver was unhurt,” said an officer.

The patient himself — Bhim Mondal, 48, — escaped with minor injuries. The duo accompanying him — Arnab Halder, 27, and Ramananda Halder, 46, both residents of Kulpi, were admitted to CNMC Hospital where they are stated to be out of danger. The police have arrested the bus driver.

On Bypass, a north-bound app cab hit a bike around 9.25pm on Sunday. The biker and the pillion rider — Sandip Acharya and Sudip Das — were injured. The cab driver fled the spot.

In a third accident, Bholanath Mondal, 55, was hit by an auto while walking along Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Road on Monday evening. He was initially rushed to MR Bangur Hospital and was later shifted to another hospital.
