2 touts nabbed, 3 detained from SSKM Hospital in Kolkata

Kolkata: The Kolkata Police arrested two touts, identified as Asish Saha of Kalighat Road and Anwar Sk of Farakka in Murshidabad, on Monday while conducting a search on the SSKM Hospital premises. Cops also detained three others. The accused were allegedly collecting money from the kin of patients, promising them admissions at the hospital, bypassing queues. The accused had also assured to arrange other medical services and facilitate contact with hospital doctors for patients coming from distant areas. "Many fall into the trap of these brokers. Kolkata Police has now taken steps to shut down this broker network," said Joint CP (crime & traffic) Rupesh Kumar. tnn
