Kolkata: Two persons were injured after two groups clashed in Beliaghata on Monday night.
While the two were reportedly Trinamool supporters, the police and local TMC claimed the incident was fallout of a drunken brawl over personal issues.
Around 9pm on Monday, there was a scuffle between the two groups which soon turned into a full-fledged fight. It was around this time that two persons received injuries and had to be rushed to the hospital.
“Raju Naskar has been resisting the rise of Shankar Chakraborty, leader of the other group. The trouble stems from there,” claimed a source.
“One group was intoxicated and got agitated over a petty issue,” said Naskar. Chakraborty couldn’t be contacted for comments.
