KOLKATA: Amit Sinha, a 19-year-old Class-XII student at a reputable school in Salt Lake, died after falling off the third-floor terrace of a building in a housing complex at IC Block on Friday night.
A case of unnatural death has been registered and the body sent for post-mortem. The police are probing whether it was an accident or a suicide.
The incident took place around 11pm, when residents of the area heard a loud thud. As they rushed to the spot, they found Sinha lying on the ground, with severe injuries. He was taken to a nearby private hospital, where he died.
Bidhannagar South police said it looked like the boy jumped off the terrace but only a post-mortem report would be able to confirm it.
