10 held in West Bengal for duping Europeans

KOLKATA: The Bidhannagar Police has busted a fake call centre at Astra Tower commercial complex in New Town on Monday and arrested 10 people who posed as Microsoft representatives and duped residents of Switzerland, Germany, Ireland and Norway.

Police said the accused had been running the call centre since February. They have seized 19 computers, 10 smartphones and some documents.

The key persons among the accused were Soumyajit Betal of Howrah, Aditya Sharma of Narayanpur, Arpit Roy of Maniktala and Nikhil Chouhan of New Town, police said.
