(SUK) had organised a youth parliament in the campus on Wednesday. The Member of Parliament (MP)

Dhananjay Mahadik

was invited to the event where he interacted with the participants in the assembly.

Mahadik said, "In a democracy, the working of parliament is a necessity. It is through the parliament that all long pending questions in all strata of the society can be discussed and solved."

During an interaction with the student assembly,

Mahadik

told students about the functioning of the parliament, its importance in democracy and shared his experiences.

He said, "During the question-answer session and zero hour, a public representative has to put in his thoughts on a number of issues. There are time restraints and one need to be precise and thorough with the questions. One has to be very well versed with the latest happenings in around his constituency as well as the city."

To be successful, one should respect their parents. "Apart from the regular academics, students should test their skills in sports and other outdoor activities too. Being knowledge equipped in the society always helps in building ones career."

The supervisor of the youth parliament, Tarun Arora, a student from the Punjab Central University, Bhatinda, said "To be an excellent Member of Parliament knowledge, concentration, responsibility, intellectuality and the experience is important.It is not just about students pursuing political science or law, one should study and learn about other disciplines too. One should get an idea about the functioning of the parliament."
