Kolhapur: The Centre for Womens studies of the Shivaji University, Kolhapur (SUK) will conduct a one-day workshop on foreign fellowship opportunities on Wednesday on campus.
The event will be looked after by Sachin Nikarge, programme manager at the United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF) in Mumbai. Nikarge will orient participants to various grants managed by the USIEF.
According to university officials, there are several grants such as Fulbright grant, Fulbright-Nehru, Fulbright-Kalam and other non-Fulbright grants which students sholuld know about if they are interested in pursuing higher education and research.
The official added that individual queries about writing fellowship proposals will be addressed in the workshop, which is free of cost to participants.
"We have kept registration free and a quota of 40 candidates to ensure proper attention towards participants," an official said.
The official added that the USIEF frequently organises several mentoring programs at several venues across the country and that the said event will throw light on applying to these kind of mentoring programs which guide on the Fulbright applications and what the selection committee looks for.
The official added that after the inception of USIEF, there is over 18,000 Fulbright scholarships have been awarded.
