Will contest Gokul and KDCC polls as MVA: Satej Patil

Kolhapur: Congress MLC Satej Patil said the upcoming elections for the Kolhapur Jilha Dudh Utpadak Sangh (popularly known as Gokul Dairy) and the Kolhapur District Central Cooperative Bank (KDCC) will be contested as Maha Vikas Aghadi.He made the statement while speaking at a function organised at the Kolhapur Congress Committee to felicitate the newly-elected members of the zilla parishad and panchayat samitis. "Both Gokul and KDCC serve rural people and farmers, and to ensure these institutions are well run and continue to serve their purpose, we are ready for the battle. In one month, preparations for Gokul Dairy's election will start. We will face these elections as Maha Vikas Aghadi. In Dec, the election for KDCC will take place," said Patil.Patil said Congress is ready to support NCP, which emerged as the single largest party. Patil also hinted that all is not well in Mahayuti. He referred to a recent statement by a BJP Rajya Sabha MP that BJP would play a big brother role in Mahayuti in ZP, which he said did not go down well with NCP. "I have keenly observed what is happening in the opposite camp. They are not ready to decide who is big and who is the smaller brother. But if NCP is treated badly, and if NCP politicians are ready, then Congress is willing to accept NCP as the big brother in ZP," said Patil.
