Two suicide cases took place in Kolhapur city

Kolhapur: Two suicide cases were reported in Kolhapur city on Wednesday.

A 33-year-old contractor jumped from the sixth floor of an apartment to end his life, whereas in the second case a 56-year-old man jumped into Rankala Lake.

In the first incident, the deceased has been identified as Shrikant Suryakant Katkar, a resident of Lambore Housing Society in Kadamwadi. The incident took place around 2pm on Wednesday.

According to the police, the deceased in the second case — Arun Dinkar Gawali (56), a resident of Harale Galli in Shivaji Peth — worked at a toy shop on Mahadwar Road.

Some youths at Rankala Lake fished him out and he was rushed to the CPR Hospital where the doctors declared him dead.
