Rare Indian painted frog found in Sangli’s Aamrai

Kolhapur: A rare Indian painted frog species has been recorded from the Aamrai area in Sangli by a team of zoologist from Western Maharashtra.
The research paper on the frog was published in the Reptiles and Amphibians Research magazine by University of Kansas, USA.
Dr Omkar Yadav, head of department of Zoology at MLA Shashikant Shinde College, Satara district, Dr Amrut Bhosale from Sadguru Gadge Maharaj College in Karad and Chaitali Gavali, a student of Padma Bhushan Vasantraodada Patil College at Tasgaon and Dr. Prakash Sajjan from Raje Ramrao College in Jath tehsil of Sangli district managed to record the rare frog species.
