Pandit assumes charge as SP of Kolhapur dist

KOLHAPUR: Mahendra Pandit, batch of Indian Police Service (IPS) 2013, assumed charge of the police superintendent of Kolhapur district on Friday
“My aim is to give justice to the common people of Kolhapur. I know the social, political and other aspects of Kolhapur. My priority will be to ensure law and order is maintained and the illegal activities will be stopped,” he said
Pandit, who was the deputy police commissioner at Mumbai before becoming the SP, said Kolhapur city has issues with traffic regulations.“I will tour the city and check the reasons for traffic congestions.”
He assumed charge from outgoing district SP Shailesh Balkawade.
