Kolhapur: As many as eight teachers from Kolhapur won awards in a competition arranged for educational innovation by the Maharashtra State Council of Education Research and Training (MSCERT). The competition was held in two categories, one each for primary schools and secondary schools. District and state-level competitions were held in each of these categories.

In the secondary schools' category teachers, Sudhir Amgani, Anand Patil, Bhagwant Patil, Anantmati Chopade, Somnath Jadhav and Subhash Randive won the prizes. In the primary schools' category, Sanjay Mohite and Kavita Patil got awards. Prizes were given based on the experiments these teachers conducted at their schools.
