Mohan Joshi to be honoured with Vishnudas Bhave award

Kolhapur: Veteran bollywood actor Mohan Joshi will be felicitated with the prestigious

at a ceremony which is going to be held in Sangli on November 5.

The announcement has been made by the Sangli-based organisation Akhil Maharashtra Natya Vidya Mandir Samiti on Sunday. The award is conferred in memory of veteran Marathi legend Vishnudas Bhave, the founder of Marathi theatre.

While speaking to media person, Sharad Karale, president of the organisation said, “Joshi has worked in more than 172 movies including 102 Marathi movies. He has also performed in a number of Marathi plays, television series and in Bengali, Kannad and Bhojpuri movies.”

The award will be presented to

his contribution, Karale said.

The past recipient of the award include Balgandharv, Keshavrao Date, Acharya Pralhad Keshav Atre, Bhalkandra Pedharkar, P L Deshpande and Ga Di Madgulkar.

This award will includes a trophy, citation and a cash of Rs 25,000.
