E-filling facility starts at Kolhapur court

Kolhapur: Chief judge of Kolhapur district and sessions court K B Agrawal on Monday inaugurated the e-filling facility at Kolhapur court, enabling lawyers to file petitions through the digital system.
The Supreme Court has made it mandatory for all courts to have e-filling facilities.
Through the system, one can scan documents, generate digital petitions and chargesheets, and upload them, which can be accessed by court officers. The association of lawyers will conduct workshops to make others aware of the e-filling system and its usage.
Agrawal said, “The digital system will speed up the processes, ultimately helping litigants to get speedy justice.”
Vivek Ghatge, president of Maharashtra and Goa Bar Council, said this is a step towards a paperless system. “The bar council has decided to set up the facility at all 460 bar councils in both states. The young lawyers were given a guidebook with all details,” he said.
