KOLHAPUR

: A team of directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) officials is likely to visit

Chhatrapati

Rajaram Maharaj

airport

in the city soon to scrutinise the compliance to objections they had raised in October, said Samir Seth, airport advisory committee member on Thursday.

He added that the DGCA had raised five objections last month regarding the runway,

air traffic control

and obstructions in the area.

"The Airport Authority of India has complied with the objections and the DGCA officials are likely to visit soon to inspect the same. After the scrutiny, the airport is likely to get the nod to start functioning normally," he said.

City MP

Dhananjay Mahadik

, who is taking regular follow-ups of the situation, said that due to certain technical issues, the airport operations were halted. However, he is confident that after the DGCA's upcoming inspection, air services will resume. "The inspection is likely to take place within next few days. The AAI has already worked on various suggestions," he said.
