1 dead, 30 injured after luxury bus turn turtle in Maharashtra

KOLHAPUR: One passenger died and 30 injured after private luxury bus turned turtle near Kandgaon in Karvir tehsil of Kolhapur district on Sunday midnight.

The passengers were staffers of a company based in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. They went for Goa and were returning back to their home town.

According to cops, 143 staffers of the company went to Goa in luxury buses. The one which met with the accident had 39 passengers.

After having dinner in Kankavli, the buses left. At Kandgaon, the driver lost control at a sharp turn.

The locals helped passengers get out of the bus in the dark. The deceased person is Amol Parshuram Bhise resident of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

The injured passengers have been admitted in CPR Hospital Kolhapur.
