NPF responsible for political instability in Nagaland: Congress
KOHIMA: The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) on Friday launched a scathing attack on the Naga People's Front (NPF), accusing them of greed and corruption besides holding them responsible for the current political instability in the state.
"The NPF's internal fight over the CM's post has destroyed the hope and expectations of the people. More than that, it has destroyed the future of NPF," a statement from NPCC president K.Therie said.

Referring to the reconciliation between the two NPF factions, he added, "They may forgive each other for power, position and money but they cannot forget their acts of betrayal against each other. Trust deficit will continue to live in the minds of every member."
"Neiphiu Rio was given a mandate to rule Nagaland in 2013. But it was of his own volition that he resigned. It is unfair for him to come back and hunt for the CM's post," the statement added.
Stating that politics of governance is based on principles that bring about the welfare of people, the NPCC regretted, "We have come across many aspiring politicians who do not understand themselves. Their dream of governance is rooted in power, position and money. Potential candidates, who do not believe in clean elections and do not fear God, are defecting from one door to another."
Attacking the NPF for maintaining their alliance with BJP, NPCC said, "We all know about the anti-Christian activities of BJP and RSS. Churches are being razed to the ground and foreign contributions for missionary hospitals, schools and colleges are being stopped. They have seen that even celebrations of Christmas were interfered with. Yet, they want to have an alliance with BJP."
They also alleged that they were concerned at the way that the former and present chief ministers, along with their cabinet ministers and MLAs, are facilitating Hindutva and practising corruption in Nagaland.
