Kohima: Newly elected NDPP MLA Wangpang Konyak was sworn in at the Nagaland assembly on Monday.Speaker Sharingain Longkumer administered the oath of office to Konyak, the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) legislator from Tapi constituency, at the assembly secretariat.Konyak won by a margin of 5,333 votes in an assembly bypoll held on November 7, the result of which was declared on December 3.The newly elected member signed the roll of members of the assembly in the presence of assembly secretary-in-charge Khruohituonuo Rio.pTI

Chhattisgarh: Majority of newly-elected legislators attend welcome ceremony at legislative assembly

Amidst the inaugural events of the sixth legislative assembly in Chhattisgarh, a significant number of newly-elected members enthusiastically participated in a welcoming ceremony hosted by assembly secretary Dinesh Sharma. Out of the 90 freshly elected legislators, an impressive 64 were actively present at the event, held from December four to eight. The secretary warmly greeted and introduced the incoming members to the assembly, underscoring the significance of their roles in the legislative process. Telangana: Newly-elected MLAs take oath, BJP legislators boycott as Akbaruddin Owaisi appointed pro-tem speaker

Telangana MLAs took oath in the first session of the third Telangana assembly. Akbaruddin Owaisi, an AIMIM MLA, presided over the proceedings as the pro-tem speaker. The BJP boycotted the oath-taking event, objecting to the appointment of Owaisi as pro-tem Speaker. BJP MLAs will take oath after a regular Speaker is appointed. The BJP will raise the issue with the Governor.

YSRCP's Mangalagiri MLA resigns from assembly, party

Mangalagiri legislator Alla Ramakrishna Reddy and Gajuwaka assembly constituency in-charge Tippala Devan Reddy have both resigned from the YSRCP party and the assembly. Alla resigned due to the party's plan to replace him with a BC candidate in the upcoming elections. Tippala Devan Reddy resigned after learning that the party has decided to give the ticket to the Yadava community for the upcoming elections. Both have submitted their resignations and thanked the chief minister and the public for their support. The reasons for their resignations will be explained later.
