Neiphiu Rio joins new party
Former CM and Lok Sabha MP Neiphiu Rio on Wednesday jumped ship from the ruling Naga People's Front to National Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP). ction
NDPP secretary general Abu Metha confirmed to TOI that Rio had joined the party in Dimapur. Party president Chingwang Konyak said he, along with working president Alemtemshi Jamir and others, had urged him to lead it in the upcoming assembly poll.
