Nagaland CM seeks 2-3 days to quit

has asked protesters seeking his resignation to give him “two to three days“ to ensure a smooth transition of power. The

Tribes' Action Committee (

NTAC

) said on Thursday that Zeliang made the request in a letter dated February 16.

NTAC and

Joint Coordination Committee

launched a relentless campaign for Zeliang's ouster in January when two people were killed in police firing while protesting against reservation of seats for women in urban local bodies. In view of the letter, they have put on hold the rally and fast-unto-death they had announced.
