Kohima: Two young persons kidnapped by militants of Myanmar-based NSCN-K (Ang Mai) were rescued from a forest in Nagaland’s Mon district after a gunfight, a defence statement said.A group of armed cadres of the militant outfit had kidnapped them on Friday night from Yannyu village in the district, it said.PTI

2 held after gunfight for kidnap bid on bizman

Two men were arrested in Ghaziabad after a gunfight with the police. The incident occurred when the police set up check posts based on a tip-off about a kidnapping attempt on a businessman in Modinagar. The arrested individuals, Bijendra and Vikas, were residents of Modinagar. Bijendra sustained a bullet injury in his leg during the gunfight, while Vikas managed to escape. The police recovered a fake number plate car, a black Splendor bike, and a pistol from the accused's possession.

Sapdanga visits Myanmar border district

Mizorams home minister, K Sapdanga, embarked on his first official visit to the Myanmar bordering Champhai district to combat drug trafficking. He expressed concern over the region serving as a primary conduit for illicit drugs and smuggled goods from Myanmar. The government is determined to address this issue and seeks public cooperation. Minor kidnapped and trafficked from Bihar freed

A 14-year-old girl, who was kidnapped and trafficked from Bihar, was rescued from a house in north Delhi's Burari. Police said she was confined and forced into prostitution. A couple and another person were arrested in the case. The girl was found during a raid conducted by the police, who had received information about a possible prostitution ring. This incident highlights the issue of human trafficking, with recent data showing 74 cases in Delhi in 2022.
