KOHIMA: The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has suspended two senior
Congress leaders in the state for alleged anti-party activities.
K Imkong, former minister and former leader of opposition, and Ayangba Aonok, working president of the NPCC, have been suspended with effect from March 12, pending disposal of disciplinary action, an NPCC statement said.
The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Executive Committee resolution taken on March 10 had decided to take disciplinary action against the two leaders, following which the NPCC president issued a showcause notice to them.
The party had suffered a huge debacle in the Nagaland assembly election last month. It had managed to field only 18 candidates for the 60-member assembly, but did not win a single seat.
