ALAPPUZHA: A youth was stabbed to death within Pattanakkad police station limits in Alappuzha on Sunday late night.
The deceased has been identified as Viswas, 28, Pattanakkad. The accused Vishnu, 26, of Kadiyin, Kothakulangara was taken into custody.
According to police, Viswas was attending a birthday party of his friend’s son on Sunday night. When Viswas was talking to his friends, Vishnu, who was in an inebriated condition, reached there.

He engaged in quarrel with some of the youths who were standing with Viswas. Soon Viswas tried to end the issue. But a provoked accused, a history sheeter, stabbed him with a knife, police said.
The accused tried to escape from there. Soon local people chased him and held him. Police said nobody invited the accused, who was accused in many criminal cases, for attending the birthday party. Soon after the incident, friends took Viswas to hospital, but he could not be saved, the police said.
