KOCHI: Two weeks after a Kerala high court judge walked out from court citing lack of preparedness among advocates to argue cases, another judge, Justice V K Mohanan
, walked out of the court on Tuesday. The judge's walkout on Tuesday afternoon was in protest against alleged wasting of the court's time by an advocate, S Biju.
During hearing of a case in which advocate Biju was representing the petitioner, justice Mohanan posed several queries to the counsel.
While the counsel was answering them, the judge asked for the date on which the petition was filed.
The advocate began searching for the date of filing of the petition in the case file. At this stage, the court declared that the case is being adjourned for one month, citing lack of time.
The counsel protested adjourning of the case and submitted that the case has to be heard as he hasn't sought an adjournment.
He also protested against being alleged to have wasted the court's time, pointing out that searching for the date took only two seconds.
However, the judge disagreed to continue hearing the case and staged a walkout.
Earlier, on June 21, Justice K Vinod Chandran walked out of the highcourt expressing displeasure over repeated answers by state government's counsel that case files from advocate general's office are unavailable to contest the cases.
