Kochi: Considering warm response from passengers, Kochi Water Metro increased the frequency of the services on Vyttila-Kakkanad route from Thursday.
The commercial operation on the stretch was started last week and boats operated from 8am to 11am and from 4pm to 7pm on the initial days. There were only three trips each in the morning and evening hours.
There was strong demand to increase the trips on the route. IT employees’ organizations of Infopark had also demanded the same.
On Thursday, Kerala Water Metro Ltd (KWML) published the revised time schedule. As per this, there would be eight trips in the morning and six trips in the evening. The boats would conduct services from 7.45am to 1.40pm and 3.15pm to 7.40pm.
Feeder autorickshaws and KSRTC feeder buses at Kakkanad Water Metro terminal will conduct services to Infopark and Civil Station.
When the Water Metro services completed one week of its launch, all the services evoked good response among people including foreign tourists. Online tickets are available and it can be purchased through Kochi1 mobile app.
