Watch: Kerala man licks popsicles before sale in Kozhikode, video goes viral

KOZHIKODE: In a bizarre incident in Kerala, a video of a man licking popsicles intended for sale before packing them went viral on social media. The incident occurred at a popsicle-making unit at Elettil in Kozhikode.


After the video went viral, the outlet, which was functioning along the Vattoli-Iyyad road, was shut down by the authorities. The video shows the man picking up popsicles, putting them into his mouth, and then wrapping them.

The man who recorded the video says in the background that it was recorded on November 19 at 8 pm.

The video was recorded by a Mangad native who came to the area to buy popsicles. The food safety registration of the establishment was also reportedly revoked.

The incident occurred even as the authorities were strengthening measures to prevent diseases like jaundice in the area. A food safety enforcement team held inspections at the shops along Kozhikode beach as part of such measures.
