Violence in Kerala result of a minister’s lies: V D Satheesan
Kottayam: Opposition leader V D Satheesan criticised the CPM for unleashing violence across the state by spreading blatant lies about the health minister being injured during a KSU protest."Bombs were thrown at the house of a KSU leader who participated in the protest, and KSU members were falsely imprisoned for attempted murder. The people of Kerala are aware of the lies told by the health minister, speaker, chief minister and party secretary. Health minister Veena George has become a figure of ridicule in Kerala, and the people will start laughing when they hear her name," Satheesan told a news conference in Adoor on Friday.
The CPM leaders are inciting statewide unrest, destroying promotional materials for Puthu Yuga Yatra in Pathanamthitta, Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram, resulting in injuries to many. The violence across Kerala is a result of a minister's lies, supported by the party. The public will respond to this in the elections. "The fabricated story of an attack on the minister is a conspiracy to divert attention from unresolved issues in the health sector. Despite the exposure of this false narrative, CPM leaders continue to incite violence," he said.Satheesan said CPM must stop the violence, withdraw the attempted murder case, and face this politically and legally. "CPM must be ready to lay down arms as the public realised it was all a scam. RPF footage from the railway station confirmed no violence occurred. The minister's gunman was present, and the staged incident on the third platform was exposed," he said. There was no need for hospitalisation, yet there were reports of unnecessary surgery. The medical bulletin did not mention any injury from the attack. The slogan raised by an ‘intellectual' female leader revealed the true culture of CPM leaders. "The slogans shouted by the leader in a protest march were heard by all. Is this the culture of SFI and DYFI in Kerala, who claim to be cultured and progressive? The slogans they shouted will not be forgotten," he added. Now, leaders are leading violence. A case should be filed against M V Govindan for inciting rebellion," he said.
