Two held with amphetamine

Kochi: Mattancherry police arrested two youths with 95g of amphetamine on Monday. The arrested were identified as Muhammed Irfan, 19, and Shahul Hameed, 20, both residents of Mattancherry. They were nabbed during a vehicle check.
According to police, Irfan, a first year degree student in Bengaluru, sourced the drug for retail sale in Kochi. A team led by Fort Kochi principal sub-inspector K A Santhoshmon and composed of sub-inspector Ajayakumar, senior civil police officer Arun K and civil police officer Jobin made the arrest.
Three arrested for theft
Kochi: Thrikkakara police on Monday arrested five persons for breaking into a locked house at Thrikkakara and decamping with valuables worth around Rs 6.56 lakh.
The case pertains to theft at a locked house near Thrikkakara temple on Sunday. tnn
