Train carrying Amrit Kalash pots leaves Thiruvananthapuram for Delhi
KOCHI: Honouring the sacrifices of nation's army heroes, 229 youth volunteers, organized by the Nehru Yuva Kendra, embarked on a special journey from Thiruvananthapuram Central to Delhi.
This special train, No 06079 Thiruvananthapuram – Delhi Safdarjung Special carrying the volunteers is a part of the "Meri Maati Mera Desh" campaign.
It carries Amrit Kalash pots filled with sacred soil collected from different parts of Kerala.
The train left Thiruvananthapuram Central at 1pm on Friday and will reach Delhi Safdarjung at 4.50 am on Monday. Youth volunteers will board from various other stations enroute.
At Thiruvananthapuram Central station the youth volunteers were given a ceremonial farewell as they embarked on their journey. Nehru Yuva Kendra organized the travel arrangements, ensuring students from all districts of Kerala could participate in this nation wide campaign.
