Theft at temple in Thodupuzha
Thodupuzha: A theft was reported at the Kolani Amaramkavu Devi temple in Thodupuzha on Sunday night.
The thief broke open three donation boxes inside the temple and stole around Rs 15,000. The idol inside the sanctum sanctorum was also found overturned. No other valuables were reported missing.
After the theft, the accused allegedly scattered turmeric powder in the area and also stole the CCTV footage.
The theft was first noticed by the temple priest when he arrived early in the morning to open the temple. Following a complaint lodged by temple authorities, Thodupuzha police launched a probe.
