Kochi: Film Exhibitors United Organisation of Kerala (FEUOK) has decided not to cooperate with the actor
Dulquer Salmaan, in protest against the OTT release of his upcoming movie ‘Salute’. An executive committee meeting of the organisation held in Kochi on Tuesday decided not to release his movies in theatres across the state.
The movie directed by
Roshan Andrews and written by Bobby-Sanjay, was produced by Dulquer Salmaan, under the banner of Wayfarer Films.
The film was scheduled for a theatrical release in January 2022, but was postponed due to the rise in Omicron cases. Recently, it was announced that the film would skip theatrical release and would be released on OTT platform.
Sumesh Joseph, general secretary of FEUOK, said, “Many theatre managements across the state had completed the preparations to release the movie. Dulquer Salmaan or any person related with the film production did not contact FEUOK before the decision to skip theatre release. We cannot agree with such stands and we will not cooperate with him in future,” he said. tnn
