Temple to get new Kulappura Malika

Kochi: The Ernakulathappan Temple will soon get a new Kulappura Malika, which is constructed in traditional style.The new Malika which was constructed near Arattu kadavu of the temple would be formally opened by Union minister of state for education and external affairs Rajkumar Ranjan Singh on Sunday.The Kulappura was constructed at a cost of Rs 50 lakh and the amount was donated by a devotee from Tripunithura.Temple welfare committee president Rajendra Prasad said the Kalappura which was in a dilapidated condition has been completely renovated. “We tried maximum to maintain the traditional design of the structure. The new building has the facility including conference hall, room for Anachamayam, exclusive areas for temple priests, devotees, etc.,” he said adding that adding the temple committee is planning to install a 12-feet tall Shivalinga in the middle of the temple pond before the next festival season of the temple.Hibi Eden, MP, and MLAs K N Unnikrishnan and T J Vinod will attend the opening of the Kulappura Malika.
