Students stage plays to popularize homoeopathy
Kochi: The three-day South Indian Homoeo Fest that concluded at Padiar Memorial Homoeopathic College at Tripunithura on Monday came up with many novel approaches for the promotion of the medical system.
The students and teachers from eight homeopathic colleges from south India staged different art forms, quizzes and debates to channelize this medical system into the public domain.

“The fest was designed in such a way to attract the laymen to the homoeopathic medical branch through plays and debates,” said Rithwik P R, second-year medical student of Padiar college.
The medical fest featured group discussions, debates and seminars targeting the promotion of homoeopathy among the public.
“We have drafted many plans to fetch the medical efficiency of homoeopathy in curing life style diseases, including diabetes, infertility and other medical complications,” said Dr N Harikumar, faculty of Padiar college.
“The debates were attended by nearly 500 students across various colleges in south India. The main focus was to create awareness among the public regarding the positive results of medical system and its advantage over the allopathic system,’’ Harikumar said.

“In the group discussion held between the teachers and students, proposals were put forward for popularizing the result-oriented and comparatively low cost homeopathic treatments going on at various medical centres in south India,” K P Swaroopkumar of Padiar college said.
“Three plays were staged by homeo colleges. The scripting was done to convey the audience with the impact of homeo medicines on patients having varying immunity.
The fest concluded with a special meeting to honour the teams that won prizes in debates, quizzes and plays.
