IDUKKI: The crime branch team probing the

Koodathayi serial murder

case has recorded the statements of the family members of the prime accused, Jolly Joseph. The crime branch team reached Jolly’s home around 8.30am on Monday and took the statements of Jolly’s father Joseph and other family members. They collected details regarding her academic qualification and her childhood days.

The family had shifted to Valiyakandam near

Kattappana

from Vazhavara four years ago.

The crime branch team also collected details from Kattappana-based astrologer Krishnakumar, who is suspected of giving an amulet to Jolly. Krishnakumar told the officers that he did not remember whether Jolly and her husband had met him or not. He said only if he was shown the amulet he could say whether it was given by him or not.

They also collected details from MES College, Nedumkandam, where she had studied her pre-degree course during 1988-90. The addresses of her classmates were also collected.

Rojo arrives from US

Kottayam: The complainant in the Koodathai murder case, Rojo Thomas, arrived in Kerala from the US on Monday following the directive of the investigation team. Rojo, who arrived at Nedumbassery airport in the early hours of the day, was brought to his sister Renji’s house near Toll Junction in Vaikom by police around 5am.

Rojo, who is the youngest son of Tom Thomas-Annamma couple of Ponnamattom family, is settled in the US.

Rojo, who reached Vaikom, did not speak to the media. He told relatives that he was still under the mental trauma caused by tragedy in his family. He also said he was ready to give statement to the probe team at any time. The crime branch will also have to find out whether Jolly had tried to murder Rojo.
