Sanoo bats for ‘tolerance’ after meeting with Irani

While the minister refused to comment on the visit, Sanoo said that the minister spoke about two

projects

. “One was about the Khadi village project at Arnamula in Pathanamthitta and the other one was about

honeybee farming

. She said that encouragement should be given to village and cottage industries and added that it is necessary for the further progress and development of India. I also agreed with her opinion. She also sought my support for the good programmes implemented by the BJP government,” he said.

He said that he would support good projects and policies irrespective of party lines but added that he will never support intolerance. “Tolerance is fundamental aspect of Indian culture or civilization. I clearly stated that I will never support ideologies or concepts that are against

tolerance

,” said Sanoo.

Sanoo said that the minister gave him a pamphlet which outlines various projects, policies and schemes implemented by the BJP government over the past four years and asked him to write a detailed review and analysis about government’s performance so far.

The ‘Sampark for Samarthan’ campaign was started by BJP to let prominent people in various fields know about the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government in the last four years.

BJP leader V Muraleedharan who accompanied Irani said the aim of the visit was not to invite anyone to the join BJP party. “This visit is not political. The aim is to seek the support of people who are willing to be part of the further development of the society,” he said.
