Sacred Heart College hosts science meet marking 50 years of women’s admission
Kochi: Department of chemistry at Sacred Heart (SH) College (Autonomous), Thevara, will host 24th Prof K V Thomas Endowment Seminar alongsidee 5th International Conference on New Trends in Applied Chemistry (NTAC 2026) on Friday.The two-day conference, marking a milestone in its Women Year celebrations, commemorates 50 years of women's admission to the institution. Seminar will be inaugurated by N Kalaiselvi, director general of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and first woman to head the apex research body.

Eminent global scientists, including Tatjana N Parac-Vogt of KU Leuven and Prof Lily Zhang of Nanyang Technological University, are delivering keynote addresses. Several leading Indian researchers are also presenting papers.The event features oral and poster sessions on advances in applied chemistry. Presentation awards sponsored by American Chemical Society and Royal Society of Chemistry will be distributed by district collector Priyanka G on Saturday.
