KOCHI: Prominent film editor Nishad Yusuf, 43, was found dead at his residence in Panampilly Nagar, Kochi, on Wednesday morning.

Nishad, a native of Harippad in Alappuzha district, Kerala, was a Kerala State Film Award winner for his editing of the movie Thallumala. He was also the editor of the latest Tamil movie Kanguva, starring Surya, which is scheduled for release on November 14.

According to police, he was found hanging in his flat around 4am and they suspect it was a suicide. The body has been shifted to the Government General Hospital, Ernakulam.

Other major movies edited by Nishad include Chaver, Saudi Vellakka, and Operation Java. He also edited Bazooka, starring Mammootty, which is expected to release next month.
