Priyanandanan now alleges neglect by jury

: Director Priyanandanan on Saturday alleged that there were attempts to block his film ‘Dhabari Kuruvi’ from being considered by the state film award jury. Priyanandanan told reporters that as per the information received by him his film was selected in the first round. “One of the members of that preliminary jury had confirmed this, and that person had asked me to file an

However, it was not screened by the final jury and there must be an inquiry why this had taken place,” Priyanandanan said. “This film is about the tribespeople and the entire actors are from tribal communities, who are the most downtrodden in the society. They have performed amazingly in the film. It is totally unacceptable that such a film was not even screened before the final jury. People should know who was behind this foul play,” he said. He, however, said that he had no grouse against the jury and he felt that deserving films have been selected for the awards this year.
