Nurses’ salary: High court seeks Kerala government’s views

KOCHI: A high court bench of Justice PV Kunhikrishnan has sought the state government’s views on implementing the recommendations of a committee that studies the demand for better wages and service conditions for nurses working in private hospitals.

The court directive came while considering a plea by Indian Professional Nurses Association that the recommendations have not been implemented in any state until now.

A nine-member committee headed by Jagdish Prasad was appointed by the Union government on a SC directive to study the issue and give recommendations on making improvements. The court will consider the case again on September 22.
