Kerala nuns’ agitation gets more support

KOCHI: The nuns protesting at Vanchi square at High Court Junction, demanding the arrest of Jalandhar bishop Franco Mulakkal, continued their strike on the fourth consecutive day. Of the five nuns from the Missionaries of Jesus congregation who started the protest on Saturday, four were present at the agitation venue on Tuesday.

Filmmaker Major Ravi and

writer Balachandran Chullikkad

promised their support to the group. Chullikkad said he had campaigned for LDF two or three times in previous polls. “If government fails to take appropriate legal steps in the case, people will spit at me when I approach them again while campaigning for LDF,” he said.

Meanwhile, Stephen Mathew, a member of the

Kerala Catholic Church Reform Movement

(KCRM) continued his hunger strike on Tuesday.
