Kottayam: Noted film director Nisar Abdul Khader passed away while undergoing treatment for liver and lung ailments at a private hospital in Changanassery on Monday. He was 65.
The funeral will be held at Changanassery old mosque's at 10am on Tuesday.
Nisar, a native of Thrikkodithanam near Changanassery in the district, was known for making hit movies within a few days on a low budget. Sudinam (1994) was his first movie. He directed over 25 movies, including Three Men Army (1995), Achan Rajavu Appan Jethavu (1995), Malayala Masam Chingam 1 (1996), Padanayakan (1996), Newspaper Boy (1997), British Market (1998), Goa (2001), Thalamelam (2004), and Two Days (2018).
He is survived by his wife Rukiya Begum. Saumya and Simi are his daughters and Saidali and Shebi are his sons-in-law.
