Man held for murdering co-worker

Kottayam: Aroor Police arrested a 23-year-old man for murdering a co-worker in a paratha-making unit at Eramalloor in Alappuzha around 4.30am on Saturday.The accused, Premjith, a native of Kodamthuruth panchayat, was arrested for murdering Jayakrishnan, a native of Manarcad in Kottayam.Jayakrishnan was an accused in several cases under the Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act.The victim worked as a distributor of the food product, while the accused was his helper. Jayakrishnan, who had been sent out of Kottayam due to his criminal history, had joined the company after that.The duo used to go together to distribute parathas. Police said during these trips, Jayakrishnan used to assault and mentally harass Premjith.
