KOTTAYAM: The Mahatma Gandhi University may sign a memorandum of understanding with the Curtin University of Technology, Australia, for ensuring greater cooperation in academic and research programmes.
A high-level delegation of academics and administrators from the Curtin University visited the university on Monday and held talks with vice-chancellor Dr Rajan Gurukkal.

The delegation was led by Brett Kirk, associate deputy vice-chancellor of the Curtin University.
Members of the foreign delegation said there were several opportunities for students from countries like India to study in Australia, explore job opportunities there and eventually acquire permanent resident status.
"There are also scholarships awarded to a limited number of students for doctoral programmes. They are highly competitive and part of the university's commitment to reward academic excellence. This will enable students from all backgrounds to realize their potential and achieve their ambitions," they said.
Curtin University has an international reputation for delivering relevant world-class studies and attracting talented research professionals and students. The delegation also interacted with the faculty members and students of the university.
