LDF report card a facade to deceive public, says Ramesh Chennithala
Kottayam: Senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala said that the progress report released by the LDF govt is merely a facade to deceive the public. With only two days left for the election, the govt has presented this false report under the misconception that no one will be able to respond, Chennithala said at a news conference in Pathanamthitta. He added that the people of Kerala would not give any value to this report. Chennithala said that many houses under the LIFE Mission project remain incomplete. "The reality is that it is impossible to build a house for Rs four lakh. The govt is deceiving the people regarding providing houses to those affected by the landslide in Chooralmala. However, Congress has already identified land for the houses announced and will construct them as soon as possible," he said. Chennithala added that the Left's manifesto is a severe blow to the farmers in the hilly regions. The govt's decision to establish a buffer zone at the forest border led to significant protests, prompting a revision. While the Tamil Nadu govt declared a zero buffer zone, Kerala betrayed its farmers. Chennithala said that the chief minister wasn't even willing to read the manifesto before its release. Chennithala also accused the govt of protecting the accused in the Sabarimala gold theft case. The delay in filing the chargesheet to ensure the accused get natural bail is part of the govt's hidden agenda. He asserted that if UDF comes to power, all the accused in the case will be brought before the law and duly punished. Chennithala welcomed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's stance that Kerala desires a female chief minister. "CPM has a history of sidelining capable female leaders like K R Gouri Amma and Susheela Gopalan from the chief minister position. In an era of gender equality, Congress will seriously consider bringing a female CM in the future," he added. Chennithala expressed confidence that UDF will win 100 seats in the assembly elections. He also demanded strong action against the misuse of voters' private information for sending campaign messages, which violates data laws.
