Kudumbashree seeks to set up more premium cafes in Ernakulam

Kochi: Kudumbashree is looking to set up more premium cafes in the district. It sought expressions of interest from entrepreneurs to set up the cafes by facilitating loans at lower interest rates. Kudumbashree officials said the Kudumbashree premium cafe, launched in Angamaly by an entrepreneur in 2024, is a successful model and interested people can start similar ones in their areas."We ask entrepreneurs to meet the investment cost. Kudumbashree will provide a maximum loan amount of Rs 20 lakh, besides facilitating an interest-free loan from bank," said a Kudumbashree official.Kudumbashree also aims to strengthen functioning of workers in construction sector. Currently, only one group in the district got involved in construction sector. However, it is inactive. To strengthen the group, Kudumbashree is collecting details of those interested in working in the sector.Details of women who completed ITI courses are also being collected, as their services in electrical and plumbing sectors can be utilized at local level.
