KPCC restructuring before Lok Sabha elections: Mullappilli Ramachandran

THRISSUR: KPCC pesident Mullappilli Ramachandran on Sunday said the party organizational set up in Kerala will be restructured before the ensuing Parliament elections.


Talking to reporters, Ramachandran said discussions on the restructuring of the Congress party organizational set up in the state were in the final stage with the party high Command in New Delhi.

He said the party structure needs to be revitalized to make it into a vibrant organization to meet the challenges of mobilizing votes in the Parliament elections, and reorganization is being worked out with this objective.

The KPCC president said he was of the view that the party structure must be pruned and number of office-bearers has to be reduced.

Ramachandran criticized the State government for trying to misuse the official machinery for organizing the proposed "women's wall". He said the Congress would take legal measures if government employees including the Kudumbasree workers participate in the "women's wall" without taking leave.

The KPCC president also lashed out at the Centre for misleading the Supreme Court on the Rafale deal. He demanded the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Defence Minister Nirmala Seetharaman should apologize to the nation for misleading the Supreme Court.

He said the Congress still insists on the demand for JPC probe into the Rafale deal and would continue to organize strong agitations for this.
