KOCHI:
Kochi Metro resumed services after more than five months on Monday. Though the services began from Aluva at 7am, there were few passengers. Employees were inside the train to clean the handrails frequently and wiping seats with disinfectants.
The Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL) has followed Covid protocols as part of resuming services. The security staff at the station monitored and recorded temperature of evey person entering the station.
They also ensured that commuters used hand santisers before heading on to the platforms. The baggage of passengers were also screened. But there was no frisking.
"It is expected that more passengers will arrive at the station during peak hours," said a staff at the station.
