Kochi-Ho Chi Minh City direct flight from Aug

Kochi: Vietnamese airline Vietjet will start direct flight services between Kochi and Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) on August 12. The new route was announced at a function in Kochi that was attended by Vietnamese ambassador to India Nguyen Thanh Hai, state government officer on special duty Venu Rajamony and Vietjet vice-president of commerce Jay L Lingeswara.The first-ever direct route from Kerala to Vietnam marks an important milestone for the development of Kochi airport and the tourism industry of the two countries. The Kochi-HCMC route will be operated with a frequency of four flights/week on every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. The flights from Kochi will depart at 11:50pm (local time) and land in Ho Chi Minh City at 6:40am (local time). The return flights will depart from Ho Chi Minh City at 7:20pm (local time) and arrive in Kochi at 10:50pm (local time). tnn
